Meet the team:
Danna Downs | BS Applied Math, MPA
I have a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics & a master's degree in public administration, both from UGA! I LOVE teaching math and began teaching high school geometry. I have taught summer school, remedial geometry, college prep, and honors! I have also taught SAT prep, prealgebra, algebra, and statistics, but geometry is my FAVORITE! I began teaching online hybrid lessons when Covid hit and started teaching on Outschool in 2022. Join me for full curriculum lessons and help your students feel confident in geometry.
Morgan Curtis | BA English Lit, MAT
I have my bachelors degree in English Literature with an emphasis in creative writing and a Masters in Teaching in English, both from the University of Georgia. I am a certified teacher through the state of Georgia in ELA 6-12. I also have Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), from Cambridge.
I started my teaching career almost 10 years ago in South Korea teaching English at the middle-school level. Since then I have taught ELA, social studies, debate, creative writing, and even a bit of math and science. Through my work in Korea, I quickly fell in love with teaching and decided to make it my career. For me, teaching is a three step process: set high expectations, build strong relationships, and then let real work begin.
Brittany Bundren | M.Ed. Educational Admin, Certified Math 6-12, ELA 4-8, Gifted Certified
I am entering my 13th year in education and am passionate about creating a learning environment where all students feel supported, challenged, and valued. My teaching philosophy centers on personalized learning, strong relationship-building, and responsive instruction that meets students where they are and helps them grow. Students can expect an engaging, collaborative learning environment focused on both academic success and personal development. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, playing pickleball, swimming, and spending time with my dogs.
Lisa Hammet | BS and MS Microbiology, Certified 6-12, Gifted and Talented Certified from UCSD
My experience includes working for a biotech company as well in a tumor biology lab at The NIH. I worked in a forensic biology lab where I assisted with evidence collection and analysis. I have taught biology and microbiology at several community colleges. I have 13 years of teaching experience at the middle and high school levels. I spend my free time horseback riding, attending local community theater events, and travel as much as I can. I enjoy reading science fiction, watching Star Trek and Dr. Who.
Jamie Gleeson | BA Math in Secondary Education, MA in Curriculum and Instruction, ESOL Certified
I've been teaching public high school for over a decade now and truly have a passion for being the best leader I can be as an educator (and soccer coach as well!). I hold a bachelors degree in Mathematics Education from the University of North Georgia, a masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Columbus State, and am certified in ESOL through GaPSC. Teachers and coaches have made a tremendous impact in my life and this career has given me the opportunity to do the same with kids of all cultures and it's been simply incredible to do so. Join one of my courses to be welcomed into a positive learning environment and I can guarantee we'll work together to figure out the rest!
Eric Gordon Sr. | BS Information Technology, AS Computer Engineering
I’m excited to teach your students this fall. With over 15 years of experience in IT project leadership and secure network operations, I focus on making technical concepts clear, practical, and age‑appropriate for learners from 13 to 17. In my classes, students learn how networks work, how to stay safe online, and how to think through problems with confidence. My goal is to create a supportive, structured environment where every student feels capable and curious as they begin exploring technology.
Emily Riley | MA Advertising & PR, BA Advertising, BA Art & Design
I have three degrees, including a Masters, that supports my career in creative marketing. I own my own marketing company that supports small businesses and I have 8+ years of experience working with over a hundred clients across dozens of industries. Students can expect a fun, creative space where we explore our relationship with marketing and how we use it to connect with people. I also love spending time with my two dogs, going to the beach, and rock climbing.
